What are the minimum requirements for a major in history?
Two introductory courses and 18 units of upper-level courses; plus a capstone experience. Non-introductory coursework must include one course designated pre-modern and one designated modern; courses from at least three distinct geographical areas; and History 301 "Historical Methods." What are the requirements for a minor in history?
18 units, 6 of which are introductory courses. Nine of the 18 units must be in courses numbered 300 or above. For more information, see Minor Requirements.
Do A.P. credits count towards the major or minor?
A score of 4 or 5 on the American, World, or European History exam automatically receives elective credit. But a score of 4 will NOT count toward any requirements for the history major or minor. A score of 5 will satisfy the requirement for the equivalent introductory course. For more information, see Major Requirements.
Do courses taken Pass/Fail or Credit/No Credit count towards the major or minor?
