The Graduate History Association was reconstituted in fall 2005 as the governing body of the Department of History graduate students. The GHA facilitates regularly-scheduled events such as the Dissertation Writers' Workshop, as well as other professional development programs. In addition, the GHA organizes the Department of History's peer mentoring program and acts as the voice of the graduate student body as needed.
Participation in the GHA is open to all members of the Department of History graduate student body. The members of the GHA for the 2016-2017 academic year are:
